First Season Review

Its November now and our first season is coming to a close although we do have some winter bookings coming up.  We have availability for New Year still so for a different way of celebrating the arrival of 2012 email in and we can do a deal.
We have seen the start of a different type of visitor with the arrival of the first of the winter Barnacle Geese. Within a couple of weeks the fields in front of the carriage will be covered in them – fantastic sight. Unfortunately they are non paying guests but more than welcome all the same. The Ken Dee Marshes reserve is only 10 minutes away and there are even more birds up there.
The winter trails at the 7 Stanes Mountain Biking facility at Dalbeattie Forest – 15 minutes away by car, and Kirroughtree at Newton Stewart (30 mins)  are proving very popular still. We have bike storage and wash down facilities on the premises and bikers are always welcome.
The search for a carriage suspension expert continues. There is a very very slight lean which gives the effect of a gentle bend. Hardly noticeable but it would be interesting to talk to someone who knows how to set this up.
